British and French Revolution The French and British Revolution has many similarities, such as the events that led up to the war, things that occurred during and after the war. Each war was started off by the invading of a place. In the British war Charles stormed into Parliment to arrest 5 leaders. In the French people's case it was the storming of Bastille, the Prison. So the British finally got fed up when he came in to Parliment and started the war, and when 3rd estate got mad at all the taxes and reduced rights so they stormed Bastille and started the French war. Both wars were also fought for a hope to end the absolute monarchy, there was just too much power in the hands of the leaders. Money of course was a major involvement in both wars, mainly the lack of it. Charles used to much and was always begging for it from Parliment. Then the Third estate was taxed so heavily they hardly had enough to pay for the taxes so they fought for freedom. After the both wars a military leader took over. Britain's Oliver Cromwell took over from Parliment, and did a pretty decent job and got done what for the most part needed to be done. Then French got Napoleon who was a very skilled military leader, but a little crazy, he was good in the fact that he got lots of land for France but in other cases he was just horrible, he was also considered the first anti-christ.
